Who’s The Daddy? #topTVdads
With Fathers day fast approaching on the 21st of this month, June is the perfect time to pay homage to our favourite TV Dads…
As well as sharing my top TV Dads in this post, I will also be announcing an exciting competition with Currys PC World, so keep reading to find out more!
1. Phil Dunphy – Modern Family
First and foremost, my favourite TV Dad has to be Phil Dunphy from Modern Family. Not only because I love this programme for the endless ‘LOLS’ that come out of my mouth from the many Phil’isms in each episode. But also because Phil actually reminds me of my own Dad, in a weird way. I mean, my dad is a funny guy and I suppose you could say he kind of resembles Phil too. Even though my old man is definitely not daft but certainly does makes me LOL (Sorry Dad!) If you have not yet watched Modern Family, you can catch it on Sky TV, on Sky One or their On Demand service….trust me, i’m sure you’ll get hooked too!
2. Michael Tyler – My Wife and Kids
Super cool dad and a father to three seriously cute kids. Michael from My Wife and Kids hits the mix of comedian and authoritarian right on the head when it comes to his playful yet rule stricken fathering skills. I mean, who doesn’t love a dad that can rap?!
3. Sandy Cohen – The OC
The best teen drama to watch when I was growing up was the O.C. I used to watch each episode wishing that I lived in Newport Beach and was a part of the Cohen family – Especially when it came to spending breakfast time eating Bagels with Seth’s dad: my all-time favourite carbs! As a dad, Sandy is always on hand to give Seth and Ryan great advice, to get them out of a sticky situation if in trouble with the law and he can even teach a lesson or two on surfboarding. Making him one super cool and educated dad.
4. Tim Taylor – Home Improvement
Known as ‘Tim The Toolman’ Taylor, most likely for his accident prone antics. Tim is the loveable joker that you can rely on. Making him one heck of a great dad for his three sons who have a handy, skilled, devoted and manly dad to look up to.
5. Don Draper – Mad Men
Now, you may be thinking: Don Draper, a top TV Dad? Even though his absence from his kids and his fathering skills may be questionable. Sally and Bobby have a love for their father like no other and with Don being a super cool hot shot in the advertising industry, having him as a dad in the 60’s wouldn’t have been so bad would it?!
So those are my top five favourite TV Dads. Have you got any favourite fathers on the home screen? If so, you could get your hands on an amazing prize by sharing your ‘Top TV Dads’ too, read below to find out how!
