V Festival iPhone Snapshots
I CAMPED & SURVIVED V FESTIVAL!
This year I went to my first ever music festival! When I turned thirty earlier in the year I put together a list of things I wanted to do in my thirties and this was one of them! So, a huge thank you to V Festival for the opportunity to attend Weston Park for the weekend. I have to admit, before we went I was a little bit scared about the prospect of camping for a night in a field full of strangers. But I survived!
It was fun to spend time with my two best friends, have my first ever camping experience and to watch some live music whilst having a weekend away from a laptop….heaven! My favourite acts were Jay Z and surprisingly Ellie Goulding!
Below I have put together a checklist for anyone camping at a festival alongside a peek at my festival outfits and glitter makeup…

FESTIVAL SURVIVAL LIST
- TRY TO PACK LIGHT it is easier said than done, but the trek from the car park to your camping spot is a long and treacherous one! I used a Doughnut backpack (two actually) one for clothes and one for makeup / cleaning products.
- BABY WIPES ARE YOUR BEST FRIEND Rather than be subjected to a horrific experience we used baby wipes, hand sanitiser, body spray and dry shampoo instead. Sounds disgusting I know, but OK I am a shower snob and it was only for one night.
- VIP IS WORTH IT even if just for the toilets! Now you may think it was shameful to not shower, but if you saw the state of the toilets – portaloos rather – then you would do the same. As well as premium toilets VIP also offers a nice seating area, bar and some other food cart options.
- PACK SUITABLE FOOTWEAR for trekking across fields and keeping your feet warm and dry. Either wellies or waterproof boots! Wellies can rub my legs so I went for a sassy pair of all black Timberland Boots instead.
- BRING YOUR OWN BOOZE to drink whilst in the camping area as it will be a lot cheaper than buying alcohol from the supermarket on site. I took some of the new Cidrerie Stassen artisanal ciders, which went down a treat. We just had to empty them into plastic bottles as no glass is allowed on the campsite.
- HAVE A LAUGH because there is no way you will get a good night’s sleep in a tent.

THE OUTFITS
For My Festival Outfits I packed lots of layers and dresses to keep my legs out, incase it rained rather than having trousers or jeans sticking to my legs. Wrap dresses, denim jackets, waterproofs and hoodies were pretty much an essential alongside my black Timberland boots, which were super comfortable and didn’t rub, even though it was my first time wearing them!

THE MAKEUP
Festivals are all about glitter and crazy colours, so it is the perfect time to have fun with your makeup! For a little DIY glitter action I stuck some stars that I picked up from the craft section in Wilko to my face with liquid highlighter, which I held in place with setting spray and hairspray. I actually did this makeup whilst in the car – are you impressed?
