THE CLEAR FRAME GLASSES TREND
This Autumn / Winter you may see a popular rise in people wearing clear framed glasses. A fantastic fashion statement, the clear glasses trend can be adopted by prescription glasses wearers (like myself) or by those looking to add an edge to their outfits with non prescription clear lenses to match. Above are two of my favourite pairs of glasses that fit the upcoming clear glasses trend, which I will share with you in today’s post.
“Clear frame glasses are funky, cool and something a little different.”
Perhaps a softer frame for your face, than dark black or brown frames, the clear frame glasses trend works great with both lighter haired hues and raven haired beauties. Personally, I think that both of these frames work with my new hair, especially my white and clear lenses, which I have to say make me feel like I am back in science class.
Derek Cardigan 7017 White / Clear Frame Glasses
My first pair of clear glasses are by Derek Cardigan and they are the 7017 frame in white and clear from lensway.co.uk for £59 (.inc single vision lenses). Square / rectangle frames are usually my favourite style of prescriptive eyewear and the width of the bridge is perfect for sitting comfortably on my nose without digging in, which is something I can sometimes struggle with. With a slight ‘mad scientist’ vibe going on, I love how the white upper half of the frames makes them stand out, as opposed to having a super transparent frame all of the way around.
Cosmopolitan Eyewear – DANNI Frames
My second pair are a slight cat-eye shaped, light grey, clear frame from non other than Cosmopolitan Magazine – did you know they are now doing eye-wear? They have 15 frame styles available to buy from £89 at Concept Eyewear. I think that these grey clear frames have such a feminine air about them and are perhaps more subtle than my white and clear Derek Cardigan pair. For those of you not ready to try a ‘full on’ pair of clear frames, starting with a subtle clear grey pair could be the perfect option to ease you into the trend.
