The Art of Autumn Layering With New Look
Autumn Layering Is An Art Form
As the colder days and darker evenings come creeping up on us – which is majorly affecting my ability to take outfit photos after work, is it you? Autumn is the perfect time to practice layering your favourite wardrobe pieces to create a new look and keep you warm from the windy chill that is currently in the air.
For me, layering is an art form. An expression of finding the perfect pairings in your wardrobe to create a layered outfit that looks fresh off the runway. Rather than looking like you’ve dressed in the dark.
Today I am collaborating with New Look to show you how to perfect the layering trend with your favourite piece of knitwear for Autumn. It is as simple as trying something new by wearing your favourite bra-let or crop top over a roll neck or snuggly jumper. For my layered look I have worn this velvet crop top (the material of the season BTW) over Autumn’s hottest colour in this comfy pink cowl neck knit. This underwear as outerwear layering technique is also super flattering on your silhouette, as it shows off your waist underneath a baggy jumper. Which means you can re-cycle your favourite knitwear from last year too for this trend!

To complete my look I picked this faux wrap leather skirt, which will be great for layering over fitted knitted midi dresses or long-line shirts. A side split maxi coat, which is great for layering and playing on lengths. Then to accessorise I spotted this fashion forward layered necklace for just £7.99 people! And a Gucci dupe worthy pair of silver crossover mules, which are my latest obsession that would, in fact, look great layered over socks too; who knew I would be into metallic for AW16.
