4 Must Have Accessories For Spring/Summer

The Spring/Summer season has finally landed and with the sun making its debut appearance, I’ve got my fingers crossed that it’s here to stay. So it’s time to hang up your winter coats and delve deep for the summer outfits. I have recently been re-organising my wardrobe to make way for lots of sunshine (not rainclouds) this year. Which, is the perfect excuse to share my must have Spring / Summer accessories with you!

Since investing in a few higher end pieces recently – starting out with my Balenciaga mini city bag, which I am obsessed with – I have now seen the importance of investing in a few quality statement and essential accessories to mix in with other high street items from my wardrobe, which I know will last me a lifetime (sorry bank account). But in fact, not all items in today’s list cost an arm and a leg, as you will see if you keep on reading…

Ray-Ban Sunglasses

Investing in designer sunglasses need not leave a hole in your pocket. Although, that pair of Celines is always worth the money! Take a pair of Ray-Bans, for example. They are chic, super trendy and only cost around £100-150 to add to your eyewear collection. I know this sounds a lot more expensive than a £5 pair from Primark but you can massively tell a difference in quality, have a heck of a lot more choice of colours and will just generally feel like a style guru when wearing them. Thank you, Mr. Ray-Ban!

Style Tip: The most important part of finding your perfect pair of sunglasses is looking for shape and fit. Pick a pair that complements your facial features, and you’ll instantly up your frame game.

Slip on & Glove Shoes

Gucci did it first with their Princetown backless loafers, but many have now followed suit, including on the high street. Take my Topshop mule loafers for example, which are around £60, super chic and comfortable and have been going everywhere with me.

Secondly, the rise of the glove shoe – or “granny shoe” as I like to call it has also taken off and you can bag yourself a quality leather pair from the high street too, like my snazzy pair from Next.

Minimal (Men’s size) Wrist Watches

For me, nothing says statement more than a classic time piece that is minimal, man-sized and sophisticated. Think silver straps with understated colours and large face – the bigger the better I say. James is in desperate want of a Rolex watch for his 30th birthday, so I have recently been looking at Watches of Switzerland to try and find a luxury timepiece that I may be able to stretch too for him. After all, I will be his wife by then! If I was treating myself I would probably go for a classic silver, like the ultra feminine Ladymatic watches from Omega.

Fringed Handbags

At the moment, I seem to be drawn to chic / preppy tailored styles; which is a first for me. So, to juxtapose that style and try to make prepped up blazers look more casual, I have been drawn to the Summer trend of fringing. You will see this everywhere from jeans to jackets and fringed or tassel handbags are an easy way to incorporate this trend into your wardrobe and with any outfit.

If you are feeling like treating yourself, you could go for this beautiful Chloe Hudson tassel bag. Or, you could instead get my In The Style dupe with 10% off by using the code CHARLOTTEL10 at the checkout! Another fringed bag I have been loving is my Label Lab tan bag, which is a little higher in price but made of suede. Making it an affordable Spring / Summer accessory investment for your wardrobe.
