My Bondi Sands Summer Tanning Regime

Bondi Sands Tan Beauty Blog Review

I don’t know why, but there is something that I don’t really like about the word ‘fake’. But, it is what it is when it comes to tanning, plus when the weather is less than appealing, looking to a bottle is the safest way to achieve a tan this Summer….

On the quest for a tanning product that doesn’t streak, smell of biscuits or leave my hands tangoed, I have tested a few fake tans in my time and I can honestly say that Bondi Sands is the best brand that I have tried yet (with Fake Bake and St. Moriz following close behind).

In prep for Summer I have been following the below tanning regime to give my skin a subtle glow, which is something I will possibly build on to tanning twice a week when we hit July and August.

Everyday Gradual Tan

Usually on an evening after working out I will shower and then apply a fresh layer of the Bondi Sands everyday tanning lotion. This helps to pro-long my fake tan in-between applications and also to keep my skin hydrated, as fake tans can often dry your skin. I absolutely love this product as it has a sweet hint of coconut and vanilla. To me, it doesn’t smell like fake tan at all. I used to use Garnier or Dove everyday tanners and find their smell to be quite strong, even once washed off, as I am not the biggest fan of smelling like a giant walking Digestive.

Dark Self Tanning Foam

Rather than opting for a light to medium tan, I find that if you apply a darker tan (but don’t over apply) that you can get a deeper tan that lasts longer, without the need for multiple applications. I have started to apply my fake tan once a week (usually Fridays) and on the night before I will exfoliate and shave to prepare my skin. Tanning after work at around 6-7pm I will leave my tan on for 3-4 hours before bed and then wash off and apply the everyday tan before hitting the sheets. This stops the bed covers from going orange, smelling of tan and also from dribble streaking tan on my face in the evenings – ever so attractive, I can confirm that I am a pillow dribbler!

My favourite thing about this tan is the coconut fragrance – as coconut scented beauty products are THE best – plus the fact it makes you feel like you have been on a tropical beach and I haven’t really experienced any streaking with this product, even on my hands and feet!
