Man Repelling By The Sea
Who Cares About Man Repelling
When You’re Married
My #BloglovinHMAwards16 Entry
As I sit here and write this post as the newly wed Mrs. Buttrick. These photos already hold a sense of nostalgia for me. After a surreal week in Paphos, Cyprus with our closest family and friends who joined us to celebrate our wedding day.
James always boosts my confidence and helps me to adopt more of a “Be Confident. Be You” attitude. I would say that I have been dressing in a somewhat “man repelling’ manner due to his influence of boosting my confidence to wear what I want and feel comfortable in. And I must say that now I am married, I feel more of a sense of wearing what the hell I want to: Thanks Hubby!
That being said, I think that every modern woman should embrace her personality and be confident to wear what she wants. No matter whether she is married, dating, single or trying to attract the opposite sex, or not.
The Man Repeller was actually the first fashion book I read since starting my blog. Not only did I find Leandra’s style story and humour riddled writing style refreshing. I also find it hugely inspiring and it is a ‘fashion bible’ that I have returned to for inspiration and motivation on a number of occasions, when I have been doubting by blogging prowess.
When I saw that H&M and Bloglovin’ had teamed up with Leandra Medine and her blog, The Man Repeller, for the 2016 Bloglovin’ Awards. I just knew that this could possibly be the calling to take my blog to the next level.
Just picture this. Jetting off to New York to be mentored by none other that THE LEANDRA MEDINE. Whilst also getting the opportunity to visit the H&M New York Showroom, have the first choice of their AW’16 collection, win a $500 H&M Gift Card and feature in the H&M Magazine. It is an experience that I would lap up and cherish every moment of. WOW!
Taking a break from my day dreaming, before sharing details of my outfit choice. Below are some more outfit shots taken in the scenic location by the sea at sunset during our stay at the Olympic Lagoon Resort in Paphos; Let’s pretend that the garish all inclusive wristband is not there, yeah?
MY MAN REPELLING OUTFIT DETAILS
Whilst I perched myself on a rather large rock by the sea to ponder my impending vows. I have to say that I was more than comfortable in this H&M ensemble, despite not having a cushion to hand. If you saw my recent H&M Haul Video or are following me on Instagram – @lurchhoundloves – Â then you may already be familiarised with a few of these sassy, yet staple holiday wardrobe items. Which brings me on to my outfit…
Off The Shoulder Blouse – £12.99
If you hadn’t noticed from recent outfit posts. I am a huge advocate of the off the shoulder top trend. Especially for holiday, as lets just say that I embraced my inner Suffragette by not packing any bras for my week away in Cyprus!
Satin Lace Shorts – £19.99
Nothing screams holiday chic more than a pair of shorts. Especially when they are satin soft and lined with lace. With the Pyjama trend being huge this season, these shorts hit the nail on the head and are super comfy too.
Circle Detail Clutch Bag – £14.99 (Now £10.49)
To compliment my silver ASOS choker necklace and satisfy my thirst for mixing metals. This gold circle detail clutch bag for under £15 would trump any designer buy. Especially on holiday when you don’t want to take that £1000 bag down to the beach with you.
Silver Head Chain – £3.99
No holiday look is complete without a touch of boho jewellery. So for £3.99 this headpiece is a on brainer. I love the laid back vibe it adds to the combination of silk, lace and frills. It also helped to stop my hair from going super crazy in the sea salt ridden breeze by the sea.
To complete the look…
Stepping away from my signature nude lip, on holiday I like to add a dash of colour with a bright red or bold hue. Being as equally garish with my shoes. I had to take my bargain See by Chloe platform sandals with a brash pop of gold away with me on holiday, despite being anxious of their precious suede straps. But, a bargain is a bargain and I am rather proud of sourcing them for half price in a flash sale: GO ME!
And that completes my entry for the H&M collaboration for the Bloglovin’ Awards 2016! The competition is open until the 19th of June so you still have time to get your own entry in – see here for more details. Good luck to everyone who has entered and fingers crossed you will see my face Instagramming from inside the H&M New York showroom very soon (optimism for the win!)
