Joolz Day+ Pram Review; 9 months on
I have been using the Joolz Day Plus pram in Anthracite Grey for 9 months now, so I wanted to share a little review with my thoughts on this lovely contraption of a pram. You may have seen me out and about with my son Roman and our Joolz Day+ pram from Natural Baby Shower (pr gift) over on my Instagram @charlottebuttrick. Since two weeks post birth I have pretty much used this everyday for daily walks, shopping trips, eating out and even on holiday walking up the grassy hills of Devon (which the Joolz Day+ did with ease, may I add).
I will be running through a list of personal pros and cons that I have found when using this pram and I also have mod shots for you below of when the pram first arrived, if you were looking for some more close up details.
Joolz Day+ Pushchair Pros
- Â Stylish and practical (I have spotted a new Taupe colour that is divine too)
- Easy to clean and wipe down.
- The bassinet is a decent size and has a comfortable mattress. If we were around at people’s houses with Roman we would remove from the pram and easily place the bassinet on the floor.
- The carrycot also has a handy pocket on the top of it, I used to put my keys in there when out dog walking.
- There are air vents on the carrycot for when the weather is warm, for ventilation (pictured below)
- For fellow dog walkers the tread and wheels on the Joolz Day+ are exceptional. I have walked up mountains, on rocky paths and through mud and this pram manoeuvres with ease and can easily be hosed down.
- A light on the pram (battery operated) is handy for evening walks, so you can make sure you don’t run the wheels through anything unwanted (I am talking about those annoying people who don’t pick up dog poop!)
- I found it super easy to switch from the bassinet cot to the seat, which has an adjustable footrest.
- The harness is also easy to adjust and get Roman in and out of.
Joolz Day+ Pushchair Cons
- Weight: I do find the pram to be rather heavy, which is noticed when I am lifting it in and out of the car. As I had a C-Section I was unable to do this myself for around 8 weeks post birth.
- Although the basket below is a good size, there is a bar that sits across the middle of it (see photos below), thus providing less room to store items as it can get in the way.
- Add-ons are on the more pricey side. That being said, you get what you pay for and the Joolz Day+ Is a premium product.Â
Verdict
If I was to be in the market for buying a pram I would definitely, without hesitation, go for the Joolz Day+ as I have had a great experience with this pushchair; so has Roman. The pros outweigh the cons and you get what you pay for with the lovely materials used to create this product, which most likely contribute to the weight, but make up for it in practicality and durability. One thing I would do differently is that I would go for one of the prams with silver bars over black, as over time and with use the coating on the black bars on my pram have some small visible scratches, showing the silver metal underneath. Having said that it has been here, there and everywhere with me, used multiple times a day for dog walks and my husband and I have been out and about with Roman since he was born for shopping, drinks and dinner so it has had plenty of use these past nine months! All the material parts of the pram look as they did when new, the plastic too and there is no wear and tear on the handle bar either. Overall I am still thrilled with my Joolz Day+ pram and I have plenty of use left to get out of it as Roman continues to grow.
