Shopping Online For Clothes

Online shopping has become my sanctuary for feeling safe and emotional spending

On too many occasions than I would like to admit in the last two months – even though I was meant to be on a spending ban for January – I have found myself emotional shopping online and purchasing new items for my wardrobe to make me feel better. The latest case being buying new shoes in response to an uncontrollable problem that occurred unexpectedly. But, I knew that buying something would instantly make me feel better. Maybe there is some element of control in that, which makes me feel safe. Either way, lets just say the last two months have been expensive ones and with New York coming up in February for my 30th. I need to curb my spending for the next 6 weeks. Pronto!

Having said that. Thinking about the warm feeling I get when adding new items to my basket and the countless hours I probably spend browsing online. I thought I would put together a post on my favourite places to shop online for clothes, shoes and accessories. My safe havens and happy places.

BUYING SHOES AND ACCESSORIES ONLINE

Buying Designer Shoes For Cheaper Online

I have to admit that recently I have become a bit of a shoe snob. Although I will buy the occasional high street pair of shoes, for on trend styles. I have found myself being drawn closer to designer footwear, albeit mostly bought in the sales. My most recent high end footwear purchases being a pair of Valentino rockstud ballerinas (in the sale), some Isabel Marant and Chloe Sandals (in the sale), Jil Sander boots (in the sale) Prada heels (in the sale) and the only ones that I plucked up full price cash for, were my Balenciaga trainers that I am wearing in this post. But, I am a trainer lover and I practically live in them, so for me the £400 odd price tag is worth it cost per wear. Also,  they are so damn hard to track down online, so when I saw them in my size. I just had to have them!

But, admittedly I am not one to like to pay full price for designer items, so below are my go to websites for shopping designer footwear in the sales…

My Favourite Accessory Destinations Online

Then when it comes to accessories, I am sure you will have all noticed from my Instagram – follow me here @charlottebuttrick – that I have been totally obsessed with my Gucci double G belt. Which, has been another great investment that I made in the past two months that basically goes with everything in my wardrobe (plus I got this men’s belt and saved £80). So much so, I have just purchased this one too with another discount on it. See. I said I have been going a bit spending crazy online shopping lately! BUT. TRUST ME. If you only buy one thing this year it should be a Gucci belt!

Apart from my latest obsession with Gucci, my other favourite online stores for buying statement jewellery and accessories are simply the sites listed below…

BUYING CLOTHES ONLINE

The struggle when buying Denim

One thing about buying denim online is that if it is a brand you haven’t shopped with before. How the hell do you know what size to get? This is something I struggle with as all denim seems to fit differently. But, below are my three saviours when it comes to buying jeans, all of which are pretty true to size. Although, if I am unsure I will always order two sizes and send back the pair that is too big or too small…

My Favourite Online Shop For Head to toe outfits!

I LOVE COATS! TBH, I have too many and I listed a few pieces on my Depop this weekend just gone – follow me @lurchhoundloves and see what I am selling! But, my online store find from the past 12 months that has you covered from everyday casual to evening glam is REVOLVE. This teddy bear coat is the apple of my eye and I also have a denim jacket, another teddy bear coat and a velvet bomber jacket from them. All which I equally love with as much passion as this jacket. So, for outerwear, tops, dresses, shoes and everything you possibly need to complete the perfect outfit. My favourite online shopping destination has to be….

REVOLVE!

My Favourite Shopping destination for Knitwear

If you saw my recent post here, you will know the answer to this already. For affordable and fashionable / on trend knitwear my favourite shopping destination has to be: CHICWISH! But, of course I have a few more fail safe places online I go to for my jumpers, which are also linked below…
