5 Classic Investment Pieces EVERY Woman Should own in Her Wardrobe
The majority of my wardrobe is made up of high-street pieces. But when it comes to adding classic styles to your wardrobe, which will last a lifetime when bought correctly. I believe there are certain items that every woman should invest in for her wardrobe. You may even find that you pass them down to your future (or existing) children too!
5 Classic Investment Pieces For Your Wardrobe
In today’s post I am wearing and sharing my top 5 investment pieces that I believe you should invest in for some classic wardrobe staples, which will stand the test of time. So, let’s begin…
1. Real Leather Pumps
I know how tempting it can be to buy cheaper shoes to have more pairs. But, when opting for faux leather in certain styles, they simply won’t last as long. For example, if we look at the classic pump. There is little to no support already in these styles. So, in order for them to last as a ‘classic’ staple in your wardrobe. The best thing you can do is invest in a leather pair. Whether you decide to invest £600 on some Valentino Rock Stud Ballet Flats or you go for a top end high street offering at around £70-100, such as my gorgeous leather pumps from Boden, which I am wearing in this post. Spending more on a real leather pair of pumps will not only last you longer but be kinder to your feet as well.

2. The Tailored Blazer
When it comes to tailored clothing, you really can tell the difference in quality of a cheap Vs an expensive blazer from the cut to the material and how long it lasts. Blazers are classic, chic and will be an old faithful wardrobe classic that you can rely on for pairing with jeans for a day to evening look or wearing over your favourite skirts and dresses for an evening out.

3. Black Designer Sunglasses
As every blogger will tell you. Sunglasses project an air of mystery, luxury, chic and cool to all outfits. So, in addition to your cheap holiday sunnies a designer pair is definitely not only a holiday investment but an everyday accessory that you shouldn’t be without.
My favourite brands for go to investment black sunglasses are Celine, Fendi and Prada. But I do also love my Ray-Ban Sunglasses, which are still an investment piece but have a lower price tag of around £100.

4. The Classic Shirt
Nothing screams classic style more than a quality shirt. Whether you opt for a crisp white fitted number, or a striped girlfriend fit – like my Boden shirt, which you can shop for £54.50 here. A shirt can be styled from day to evening and pretty much goes with everything in your wardrobe too. For wearing under jumpers, jackets, on their own and even under dresses. There are endless ways you can style a staple shirt in your wardrobe. Again, you can also really tell the difference in fit and quality when investing a little more in this wardrobe staple.
5. The Black Designer ‘IT’ Bag
We can see an emerging trend here can’t we. That most of my suggested items are black. Honestly though, this is just personal preference and investment items can be in what colour you wish. Just, let’s be honest, black is chic, won’t go out of date and you won’t get sick of it either. So, I myself am sticking with black for now 🙂
Bags are pretty much a daily neccessity, so investing in a designer bag that you can afford is not like paying hundreds of pounds for a bikini that you will only wear a couple of times a year (if that). So, if you are considering in investing in a designer bag for your wardrobe, I would suggest to start off small and to choose a bag that will compliment items already in your wardrobe.

So, when it comes to investing in the right designer back for you. Think about what size bag is most practical for you. If you want it for the day, evening or both. What colours will work in your wardrobe and also whether or not it is a bag you will use forever or easily get bored of.
